Cedar Park filled in fast through the late 1990s and 2000s, and the consequence is arriving now: thousands of homes whose original equipment is hitting twenty-plus years within a few seasons of each other. When a neighborhood is built at once, it tends to fail at once.
The specifics are consistent. Original condensers sized for the house as built, not as it was later added onto. Attic duct runs baking above 130°F through a Central Texas afternoon, so cooled air arrives lukewarm at the bedrooms furthest from the unit. A single return trying to feed a system that needs more air than the ductwork can supply. And on the older end of the stock, refrigerant that is no longer manufactured and priced accordingly.
None of that shows up as a broken part. It shows up as a system that runs constantly and still never quite gets the upstairs cool. Every Cedar Park visit includes a full evaluation with photos and video — and if repair still makes financial sense, we will say so.
